HM King Mohammed, Supreme Chief And Chief Of Staff Of The Royal Armed Forces, Addresses An Order Of The Day To The Army

On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), HM King Mohammed VI, FAR supreme chief and chief of staff addressed this Tuesday the annual order of the day to the officers, majors and soldiers.
MAP - The creation of the Royal Armed forces of which we are celebrating today the 57th anniversary was the first stage in the building of a modern Morocco, the sovereign said expressing gratefulness and esteem to the late HM King Hassan II who was entrusted since independence the responsibility of heading the military institution.
The sovereign also voiced satisfaction and pride of the Royal armed forces, with all their components, and pays tribute to their sacrifice and dedication to defend the homeland integrity, hailing the qualities of grandeur, faithfulness and dedication as well as the vanguard role played by the soldiers whether in the Southern provinces, or in border areas.
The message further praises the glory of the Moroccan army both when it comes to defend the unity and stability of Morocco and during peace-keeping operations worldwide, underlining that the army values are in line with the universal values of human rights, co-existence and solidarity between peoples.
"Your illustrious participation in the Zaatar field hospital in Jordan, and in Palestine and the Moroccan military contingents who are carrying on their peace and security-keeping missions in Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo and Kosovo are all evidence of the perennial patriotism embraced by our Royal Armed forces at the service of humanitarian solidarity with sister and friend countries, mainly Africa and Arab ones", the text says.
The supreme chief and chief of staff of the Moroccan army also pays tribute to the army efforts at the national level to extend humanitarian assistance and medical care to alleviate the sufferings of Moroccans in remote areas and in regions enduring hard weather conditions.
The sovereign underlines the nationally and internationally-recognized professionalism of the Moroccan army as well as the positive results achieved on the ground, expressing will to continue to grant utmost interest to the Moroccan army preparedness and qualification efforts, through basic and continuous training in various modern technical and cognitive fields.
The sovereign goes on that Royal instructions have been issued to the ministers in charge of higher education and of the national defense administration to conclude an agreement of training and scientific training between higher education institutes, Moroccan universities and military academies, with the aim of enriching the military training.
This anniversary is also an opportunity to carry on the action to permanently adapt the army structures, promote its openness on the external world for more efficiency and modernity, while remaining attached to the national sacred values as pillars to preserve the Moroccan identity, the order of the day states, stressing resolve to remain permanently mobilized to preserve the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the homeland.
In line with the constant care extended to the army members and to improving their living and work conditions, the sovereign recalls the launching of an integrated services space in Rabat in order to develop social services.
HM the King offers a lunch on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the FAR
On order of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chaired, on Tuesday at the Circle Officers' Mess in Rabat, a lunch hosted by the Sovereign on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Armed Forces, said a statement of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
On his arrival at the Mess, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was greeted by the General de corps d'Armée Abdelaziz Bennani, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, before reviewing a detachment of the Headquarters which rendered the honors.
HRH was then greeted by the Head of the government, Abdelilah Benkirane, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the Administration of National Defence, Abdeltif Loudyi, the General de corps d'Armée, Hosni Benslimane, Commander of the Gendarmerie Royale, the General de division aérienne, Ahmed Boutaleb, Inspector of Royal Air Forces and the Vice-Admiral Mohamed Laghmari, Inspector of the Royal Navy.
The luncheon was attended by the members of the Government, the speakers of the two chambers of the Parliament, senior officers of FAR's General Staff, the military attachés accredited to their embassies in Rabat and other senior civil and military personalities.
The 57th anniversary of the creation of the FAR was celebrated at different Places d'armes, garrisons and units of the FAR, through ceremonies marked in particular by the flag raising, the reading of the order of the day sent by HM the king, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, to the members of the FAR, the awarding of decorations, as well as sporting events between civilian and military selections.
