Royal Armed Forces Mark 57th Anniversary

 FAR

The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) marked this Tuesday morning their 57th anniversary in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the FAR chief staff in Rabat.

After saluting the national flag, the order of the day addressed by HM King Mohammed VI, supreme chief and chief of staff of the Royal armed forces was read out before the officers, majors and soldiers.

On this occasion, several officers, majors and soldiers received wissam distinctions granted by the Sovereign.

Chaired by the General de corps d’armée Abdelaziz Bennani, FAR general Inspector and commander of the southern zone, the ceremony was marked by a military procession to which various military units and detachments took part.

The FAR anniversary, marked on May 14, is an opportunity to pay tribute to this institution that has been endeavouring for over half a century to defend the integrity of Morocco’s territory, consolidate national and international solidarity and preserve world peace.

In addition to their main mission of protecting Morocco’s sovereignty, the Moroccan army has been involved, since it was created on May 14, 1956, in civil and humanitarian missions, at the service of Moroccans in times of crisis as well as populations of the world, particularly in periods of war and instability, in accordance with their eternal motto: God, the homeland, the King.
