HM The King Launches In Bouskoura Rehousing Operation For 400 Shanty Households Of Laatour Village

HM King Mohammed VI launched, on Thursday in Bouskoura, the operation of rehousing 400 shanty households of Laatour village at the California neighborhood in Casablanca, as part of the Al Izdihar integrated project worth 240 million dirhams.An integral part of the program for shanties' eradication in the Greater Casablanca region, the operation shows the sovereign's solicitude for the underprivileged by enabling them to have a decent home and enjoy better living conditions. It falls within the framework of a large-scale program aimed at eradicating the villages of "Jamaica" (completed) and "Mzirira" of Bouskoura, of Ouled Saleh's "Mzirira" and that of the AN 127 avenue of Ain Diab, through the development of 623 plots of land to rehouse some 1,246 shanty households for an amount of 77 million dirhams. These rehousing operations are carried out as part of the Al Izdihar integrated project (40 ha) by the Al Omrane group. The said project concerns also servicing and developing 285 adjustment plots, and building 1,129 social houses (250,000 dirhams), 75 low-cost houses (140,000 dirhams) and 110 shops, in addition to the development of 13 plots for community-based public equipment and economic activities. The program for shanties' eradication in the Greater Casablanca region, set up in conformity with HM the King's instructions, benefits nearly 46,000 shanty households. In addition to the Al Izdihar operation, the program provides for carrying out 12 rehousing operations (Al Fadl, Azzaitoun, Al Fath 1, Al Fath 2, Assafa, Al Marwa, Annasr, Al kasba, Annajah, Al Hamd, Alaymoun, Arriyad) to benefit 43,756 households on a surface area of 630 ha, as well as a rehousing operation of 2,164 households. On this occasion, HM the King handed symbolically allocation certificates to ten beneficiaries of Laatour village.
