HM The King Inaugurates Regional Section Of Mohammed VI Centre For The Disabled

HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, here on Wednesday, the regional section of the Mohammed VI centre for the disabled, which will provide across-the-board assistance to the disabled, including training, and offer assistance to their families.
The centre, which reflects the Sovereign’s will to ensure the equal opportunities for all, especially to people with special needs, was set up by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for a budget of MAD 22 ml (USD 2.6ml).
The centre adds up to those erected earlier in Oujda, Marrakech and Safi. It will help pool the efforts of NGOs, and provide across-the-board assistance to the disabled people, and ensure, with the input of the different players, the socio-educational insertion of the beneficiaries.
The goal of this multifunctional centre includes also prevention, assistance to the people with disabilities, including children, support to the families of the targeted people (parental guidance), and professional training of the targeted people.
The centre has the capacity of 20 beds, and includes a medico-social ward and socio-educational ward, a sports area, a training area, a restaurant, an accommodation section, a social unit and a unit in charge of autistic children.
The project is the outcome of a partnership between the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the National Initiative for Human Development and the Council of the city of Fez. It reinforces the various actions taken by the Foundation in this part of Morocco, with the aim of promoting the human element as a centrepiece of any global and integrated development.
