HM The King Back In Morocco After Visit To Mali

  H.M King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HH Prince Moulay Ismail, returned to Morocco on Sunday evening after a visit to Mali where the Sovereign took part in the inauguration ceremony of Malian president Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.

 H.M the King was welcomed by head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane, interior minister, Mohand Laenser, minister-delegate for foreign affairs and cooperation, Youssef Amrani and HM the King's chamberlain, Brahima Frej as well as by other military and civil personalities.

     While in Bamako, the Sovereign, Commander of the Faithful, and the Malian President chaired, on Friday the signing ceremony of an agreement on the training of Malian Imams (religious preachers), and visited the Moroccan field hospital set up in the Malian capital as part of Morocco's humanitarian assistance to the Malian people.

In a speech delivered during the inauguration ceremony of Malian president, HM the King pledged that "Morocco will spare no effort to support Mali - our sister nation and neighbor - in the socioeconomic sectors", deemed as a priority for the country, and stressed that "our cooperation will encourage the business community in both countries to become more actively involved in promoting trade and investment between our two nations, thus boosting employment and encouraging the transfer of skills and capital"

    The Sovereign further reiterated that Morocco "intends to shoulder his hitorical responsibility in this regard" in accordance with "a long-established, immutable tradition of cooperation with sub-Saharan sister nations", insisting "I have personally been devoting special attention to this key element of Morocco’s external relations, seeking to reinforce it as much as possible"
