HRH Princess Lalla Meryem Launches In Marrakech Vaccination Campaign Against Measles, Rubella

HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, chairwoman of the National Observatory for Child Rights (ONDE) launched, on Saturday at the Hay Mohammadi Urban health center in Marrakech, the national vaccination campaign against measles and rubella.

On this occasion, details were given to HRH the Princess by Khalid Lahlou, head of the population department at the Health Ministry, on the history of the performance and implementation of the vaccination program, as well as the national vaccination campaign against measles and rubella and the departments involved.

 HRH Princess Lalla Meryem was also informed of the campaign's objectives in the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region, presented by Mustapha Achibel, regional director at the Health Ministry.

 Afterwards, HRH the Princess attended the vaccination of two beneficiaries.

 This event, which coincides with the celebration of the World Immunization Week 2013, is part of the broad lines of the 2012-2016 sectoral action plan by the Health Ministry.

 The campaign targets all children, teenagers and young people aged 9 months-19 years, that is around 11,213,000 people in order to reduce mortality rate caused by measles and rubella.

 The vaccination activities will run until May 12 all over the country.
