Morocco Condemns Attack on Emirati Civilian Ship by Militias in Yemen (Foreign Ministry)

Morocco denounced the attack against an Emirati civilian ship, conducted by militias fighting in Yemen, said Thursday the Foreign Ministry.
"The Kingdom of Morocco condemns the attack by militias fighting in Yemen against the Emirati civilian ship ''Swift'' which ensured the delivery of food and medical aid as well as the evacuation of wounded Yemenis, and considers this aggression, contrary to the merchant shipping Act, as an element that is likely to undermine efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in this brotherly country," said the Ministry in a statement.

''While welcoming the initiatives of brotherly and friendly countries in order to alleviate the sufferings of the Yemeni people, including the initiative by the Emirati ship and King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid for Yemen, Morocco stresses the need to give utmost importance to the humanitarian aspect, which is a vital need for Yemeni civilians and a factor to facilitate a peaceful solution to the crisis in Yemen,'' the statement said.
