The strategic choices for which Morocco opted reinforce Africa's role in global economy through reforms and broad-scope projects backing sustainable development in the region, Special advisor to head of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Youssouf Ouédraogo said on Wednesday in Rabat.

Morocco created the adequate conditions for a speedy, sustainable development which shows a will to tip the balance in favor of Africa and enable the continent to play a more comprehensive role in world economy, Ouédraogo said at a press conference on AfDB annual meetings which will be held on May 27-31 in Marrakech.

Ouédraogo hailed the accomplishments made by Morocco for a sustainable, solidarity-based economy and which make Morocco "a model and exemplary country" in many areas as road, port and railways infrastructure.

"We should commend South-South cooperation which Morocco has engaged in with many countries with determination and which yielded results," he noted, adding that the bank supports this vision to address global challenges facing the region.
