Morocco, UAE Share Vision for Agricultural Cooperation - Minister
Morocco and the United Arab Emirates share the same vision for agricultural cooperation, aiming to further strengthen collaboration in various areas of this vital and promising sector, Mohamed Sadiki, Morocco's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, on Thursday in Dubai.
Both countries are currently implementing significant investment projects in the agricultural sector, with a focus on the valorization of marine products, the minister specified in a press statement following discussions with the Emirati Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Maryam Al Meheiri.
He added that the various projects discussed would be implemented using an approach that combines improved productivity with minimal natural resources, especially water, and takes into account all the issues under debate at COP28.
Sadiki assured that the meeting, held at the UAE pavilion at COP28, provided an opportunity to activate the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries during the visit of HM King Mohammed VI to the United Arab Emirates.
The memorandum aims to establish the foundations for cooperation and investment partnership in the agriculture and maritime fisheries sectors.
The discussion also covered topics related to climate change adaptation, water irrigation mobilization, and economy, he added.
These exchanges are part of the implementation of the royal vision for cooperation and partnership between the two countries, which gained new momentum through the recent visit of the Sovereign to Abu Dhabi.
