Morocco-EU Agricultural Agreement; Madrid Notifies Rabat of its Decision to Support Appeal against EU Court Ruling

Spain has notified Moroccan authorities of its decision to support the appeal against the EU Court ruling on the agricultural agreement with Morocco, Spain's ambassador to Rabat, Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner Rodriguez, said.
To a question asked by journalists on Wednesday in Rabat, the Spanish Ambassador confirmed that "Moroccan authorities were notified of Spain's decision to support the appeal made by the EU Council against the EU Court ruling of 10 December 2015 concerning the agricultural agreement between the EU and the Kingdom of Morocco".
"This decision is consistent with the unanimous decision of the EU Council to lodge an appeal a few days after the EU Court ruling", the Spanish diplomat pointed out.
On 2 March, Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Ibanez, expressed his country's support to the Moroccan position on the EU Court ruling.
During a meeting in Geneva with Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mbarka Bouaida, on the sidelines of the 31st session of the Human Rights Council, the Spanish official expressed the hope to see the Kingdom and the EU "move forward with a solution".
