The city of Essaouira is increasingly establishing itself as an ideal destination for digital nomads, affirmed participants in the 2nd edition of the "Digital Nomads Connect Morocco" summit, which opened Wednesday in the "City of Trade Winds" in the presence of decision-makers, investors, and international experts.
During this international event, speakers highlighted the many opportunities Essaouira offers in the field of digital nomadism, a rapidly growing trend that involves working remotely while exploring new environments for living and creativity.
Participating remotely, His Majesty the King’s Advisor and founding President of the Essaouira-Mogador Association, André Azoulay, praised the choice of Essaouira to host this major international event, which brings together a wide range of government officials, foreign investors, and key players in the digital economy.
He emphasized the city’s "deep and genuine" commitment to the core values of digital nomadism, such as mobility, openness, innovation, and harmonious coexistence.
Highlighting Essaouira’s unique status as a historic crossroads of intercultural exchange, Azoulay reaffirmed the city’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive digital ecosystem capable of providing a welcoming environment for digital nomads from around the world.
For his part, the Governor of Essaouira Province, Adil El Maliki, underscored the city’s exceptional heritage rooted in human history and reiterated the local authorities’ commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and connectivity to accompany this new momentum.
"Thanks to the many structural development projects underway in the city, such as the Essaouira Technopark, the "City of Trade Winds" is well on its way to becoming a sought-after destination for digital nomads seeking a balance between work, well-being, and innovation,” El Maliki stressed.
