Government Sets Up Interdepartmental Command Post To Monitor Effects Of Floods In Southern Morocco

Moroccan government has set up on Sunday an interdepartmental command post in order to monitor the effects of floods hitting some southern regions of the Kingdom.

The command post is composed of the general secretaries of the ministries of the Interior, Health, Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics, Agriculture and Marine Fisheries, General Affairs and Governance, Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, as well as Representatives of the National Electricity and Water Office. 

This mechanism is responsible for monitoring and assessing the situation in the flood-hit regions and coordinating joint actions for prevention and risk reduction as well as taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and the protection of the citizens and their properties, said the CP in a statement.

The command post will remain in place as long as the situation requires so.
