Morocco-US Strategic Dialogue: Morocco Made Great Progress in Promoting Business Climate

Morocco has made great progress in promoting business climate, infrastructure, connectivity and continental know-how, Chairman of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (known by its French acronym EESC), Nizar Baraka, said Tuesday in Rabat.

"US companies, which have invested in Morocco, have benefited from the thriving business climate", Baraka underlined at the closing ceremony of the 3rd Morocco-US Business Development Conference', a reference meeting for Moroccan and US businessmen.

Morocco-US Business Development Conference', which was crowned with great success, also highlighted the enormous African potential of our cooperation, notably that the African continent has more than one billion consumers, he said.

"Africa is the destination and Morocco is its gateway", he noted, adding that efforts shall be made to provide more visibility regarding the creation of opportunities and the promotion of investment projects due to the strong presence of the Kingdom throughout the continent.

For his part, US Ambassador in Morocco, Dwight Bush, noted that his country enjoys a "stable" bilateral partnership with the Kingdom, hailing the "positive" vision of HM King Mohammed VI for the Kingdom and Africa.

Highlighting the good economic infrastructure in Morocco, the US diplomat stressed that the Moroccan government has developed a skilled workforce and encouraged the establishment of US companies wishing to take advantage of its assets in different areas.

He added that the country has a geographical location that encourages US companies to settle in the Kingdom to expand their trade with the African and European continents.
