Morocco-EU: Progress is made in implementation of Partnership for Mobility, European Commissioner

The European Commission noted progress in the implementation of the Partnership for Mobility, inked with Morocco in June 2013, said European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos.
Following the establishment of the Partnership for Mobility, important EU-funded projects were launched in the field of immigration while others are still under way, said Avramopoulos, on behalf of the European Commission, answering a question by a Euro-deputy.
The EU agencies and the partnership signatory member states are getting better at coordinating their activities and the dialogue with the EU was enhanced, he added.
The European official recalled that the objective of the partnership with Morocco is to contribute to managing the movement of people between the Kingdom and the nine signatory European states, noting that the partnership provides for political commitments to facilitate the use of legal immigration channels, prevent illegal immigration and promote immigration's positive impact on development.
