Morocco's "Digital Morocco 2030" strategy, launched in 2024 in line with the enlightened Vision of HM King Mohammed VI, makes digital technology a driver of sovereignty, competitiveness, public sector modernization, and social inclusion, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch said Monday in Agadir.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Oracle's second research and development (R&D) hub in Morocco, Akhannouch stressed that digital technology is also a tool for transforming public administration, a lever for economic growth, and a means of creating skilled jobs for young people.

He added that through this strategy, the government has set ambitious objectives to provide large-scale training for young people in digital professions, create direct jobs in the digital economy, foster the emergence of innovative companies, strengthen digital services exports, and position the Kingdom as a leading regional technology hub.

Since 2021, Morocco has embarked on a profound shift in the way it manages its digital transformation, he recalled, noting that under the impetus of the Sovereign, digital transformation has become a fully-fledged government priority, overseen by a dedicated ministerial department.

This institutional development has enabled digital technology to occupy a central place in the architecture of public action while strengthening implementation capacity, the Head of Government continued, noting that in the space of three years, public investment dedicated to digital technology has recorded unprecedented growth, rising from MAD 11 million in 2021 to more than MAD 1.7 billion in 2024.

Akhannouch underlined that the opening of Oracle's new hub in Agadir represents the regional extension of a broader ambition: a Morocco where new technologies progressively reach all regions, universities, and employment hubs.
