COVID-19: Over 860,000 People Receive 3rd Dose (Health Ministry)

A total of 866,326 people have received the third COVID-19 vaccine dose, eighteen days after the launch of this operation, the Ministry of Health said Thursday.

A total of 23,440,505 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 21,230,660 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

A total of 255 new COVID-19 cases and 344 recoveries were recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 943,222, while recoveries rise to 923,257, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.9%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (97), Casablanca-Settat (86), Eastern Region (26), Fez-Meknes (12), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (09), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (08), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (08), Souss-Massa (04), Marrakech-Safi (04) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01).

As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14.593 (fatality rate of 1.5%) with 13 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (04), Casablanca-Settat (02), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (02), Souss-Massa (02), Eastern Region (01), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (01) and Fez-Meknes (01).

The number of active cases stands at 5,372, including 344 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
