Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform on Tuesday in Rabat presented the main advances under the "Morocco AI 2030" roadmap, along with a set of concrete initiatives and solutions marking a new phase in the implementation of the Kingdom’s national AI strategy.
The roadmap, also referred to as “AI Made in Morocco,” aims by 2030 to generate 100 billion dirhams ($10 billion) in added value for the country’s GDP, create 50,000 direct and indirect jobs, and train and certify 200,000 AI talents, with AI education to begin from childhood.
This dynamic is fully in line with the High Royal Guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI aimed at promoting investment in AI, new technologies and renewable energy as drivers of development and the transition toward sustainable economic models.
The strategy is built around three pillars: sovereignty and trust, innovation and competitiveness, and impact, adoption and outreach. Its implementation notably relies on the national network of JAZARI Institutes, the operational arm for AI research and innovation, comprising JAZARI ROOT, JAZARI Smart City, JAZARI EduTech and JAZARI Industrie X.0.
The ministry also unveiled a sovereign AI marketplace designed to provide access to secure and trusted AI solutions while ensuring data protection and maintaining control over infrastructure in Morocco. One of the first solutions presented was Idarati AI, an agentic AI assistant intended to inform, guide and assist users with administrative procedures.
The presentation also included a proof of concept for a national meta-application and e-wallet, aimed at further integrating public services and simplifying interactions between citizens and the administration.
A "Pink Book" titled "Towards Digital Sovereignty – 70 Years Later, 1956-2026" was also presented, tracing Morocco’s shift from technology use toward greater control of its own digital assets, institutions and ecosystems.
Through "Morocco AI 2030," the Kingdom seeks to move beyond the simple adoption of AI technologies toward building national capacity to produce, master and disseminate AI, with a focus on strengthening digital sovereignty, supporting businesses, modernizing public administration and creating new opportunities for young people.
