70e anniversaire de la création des FAR : Sa Majesté le Roi adresse un Ordre du jour aux Forces Armées Royales

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), addressed on Thursday an Order of the day to officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates on the 70th anniversary of the creation of the FAR.

Here follows the translation:

"Praise be to God; may prayers and blessings be upon the Prophet, his Kith and Kin,

Officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates,

The Royal Armed Forces are celebrating the 70th anniversary of their creation this year, an occasion of profound significance in our country’s history, representing a national epic through which I recall, with pride and esteem, the evolution of this solid national institution, as well as the commendable actions and enormous sacrifices it continuously makes to ensure that Morocco remains a safe country, safeguarding its territorial integrity.

On this occasion, I commend the achievements made during the previous period, while emphasizing the need to continue working to promote Our Armed Forces and further develop them so that they may continuously keep pace with the world's profound changes.

In this regard, I must commend the active and central role that the Royal Armed Forces have taken on since their creation in securing and protecting Our land, sea, and air borders, as well as their commitment, in accordance with My Highest Instructions, to contributing to rescue and relief operations, providing care and aid to affected populations, whenever necessary.

Officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates,

The development of the Royal Armed Forces’ defensive capacities is a top priority and among the essential pillars of the strategy I have adopted towards modernizing and restructuring Our military system, through focusing on safeguarding achievements and supporting the ongoing momentum experienced by all components of Our Forces. The objective is to enhance their performance and improve their interoperability so they are always ready to meet any challenge with insight, efficiency, and professionalism.

It is also necessary to continue working toward the implementation of modern scientific programs that have been adopted, with a focus on comprehensive projects in the fields of scientific, applied, and technical research, artificial intelligence, digitization, and cybersecurity—efforts that will bring about a qualitative shift within the Royal Armed Forces, developed human resources and enhanced professional capabilities, through developing and updating training, internship, and mentoring programs.

With regard to partnerships, I will remain committed to the Royal Armed Forces’ participation in international efforts to promote regional and global stability and security, particularly through strengthening joint and multilateral cooperation, which will reinforce the trust, respect, and credibility enjoyed by Our Army among our brothers, partners, and friends.

Officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates,

Your immediate and proactive interventions on the ground to address the floods that have affected the western and northern regions of the Kingdom, alongside civil and local authorities and relevant public institutions, have contributed to the rescue and evacuation of those affected, while meeting their needs for shelter, food, and medical care, in addition to protecting their property.

In this context, I am pleased to commend this Moroccan humanitarian feat, featuring combined efforts of central and local administration and civil society to proactively launch rescue and relief operations, to which units from the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, the National Security Agency, the Auxiliary Forces, and Civil Protection participated, with meticulous planning and coordination to evacuate residents of Ksar El Kébir and several villages in the Gharb region, which were surrounded by floods, while ensuring their accommodation and providing them with the necessary aid.

I also commend the laudable efforts of the medical and paramedical teams operating in the military field hospitals and military logistics units, which I ordered to be deployed to some remote and mountainous areas of the provinces of Azilal, Al Haouz, and Midelt in response to the consequences of adverse weather conditions, which left a heartening impact on the spirits of Our loyal subjects.

Alongside these efforts, it is important to highlight the outstanding achievements of the military service, which plays a major role in bolstering the spirit of citizenship and belonging to the Homeland, while instilling the values of solidarity, mutual aid, discipline, and responsibility in our Moroccan youth.

In this regard, I have worked to adopt a comprehensive approach, based on the modernization of teaching, supervision, and training methods, while strengthening partnerships with public administrations and institutions, in order to develop the skills required of conscripts in new technical specializations that meet our country’s current professional needs and expectations in areas of vocational training and employment.

Officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates,

In the social sphere, My attention is constantly accompanied by My High Care for members of Our Royal Armed Forces, with the aim of developing Our army and ensuring the best possible working and training conditions. I have issued My orders for the creation and renovation of several military hospitals in Rabat, Meknes, Errachidia, and Laayoune with a view to improving health and social protection services for active-duty and retired military personnel as well as their families.

In order to enable Our loyal subjects to obtain housing that meets their aspirations and needs, I have instructed the Military Housing and Facilities Agency to launch an additional program comprising 60,000 housing units, to be completed over a five-year period at a rate of 12,000 units per year.

Officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates,

Our pride on this day and the commemoration of this anniversary also provide a solemn occasion to raise, with hearts filled with reverence, the most fervent prayers to the Almighty to embrace with His Holy mercy and grace the souls of Our two departed Leaders, My August Grandfather and My Venerable Father, His Majesty King Mohammed V and His Majesty King Hassan II, may God welcome them into His vast paradise among the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.

I also implore the Most High to surround our valiant martyrs—who sacrificed their lives for the unity, glory, and greatness of the Homeland—with His infinite mercy, praying to God to assist you in your mission and in your sacrifices in the service of your Homeland, while remaining faithful to your duty of obedience and loyalty to your Supreme Commander and to the Glorious Alaouite Throne.

I implore God, the Almighty, to grant you success and to guide your steps towards the good of your country, upholding forever our eternal motto: "God, the Homeland, the King."
