HM the King, Commander of the Faithful Chairs Religious Evening on Laylat al-Qadr
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, presided on Monday evening at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, a religious vigil in commemoration of the blessed Laylat Al-Qadr.
After the prayers of al-Icha and Tarawih, verses of the Holy Quran were recited by the child Hajar Al Mourabit (11 years old from the city of Tetouan), winner of the Mohammed VI National Prize for memorization, declamation and psalmody of the Holy Quran. HM the King was then greeted by the young declamator, to whom the Sovereign presented the Prize.
This distinction testifies to the high solicitude with which HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, has never ceased to surround the declamation of the Holy Quran and the constant will of the Sovereign to promote the memorization and learning of the Holy Book among the young generations.
Then, Bahae Eddine Mohamed Jamal Eddine Ennadoui, Alem of the Republic of India, delivered an address to the Sovereign on behalf of the Ulema who participated in the religious talks of the holy month of Ramadan 1444, in which he expressed his deep thanks and gratitude to HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, for the welcome and hospitality extended to them throughout their stay in the Kingdom.
Bahae Eddine Mohamed Jamal Eddine Ennadoui stressed that the religious talks bring together every year the elite of the Ulemas to discuss multiple issues of interest to the Islamic Ummah and humanity as a whole, noting that HM King Mohammed VI continues the work of His Glorious Ancestors, the late HM King Mohammed V who had built the bonds of friendship and harmony, and the late HM King Hassan II who had laid the groundwork for the development of a modern Morocco
This religious evening was marked by the closing of Sahih Al-Bukhari, made by Belkacem El Kassimi, member of the local council of the Ulemas of the prefecture of districts of Ben M'sik, after reading "Hadith Al Khatm", by the fquih Hassan Saber, member of the local council of the Ulemas of the prefecture of districts of Ain Chock.
The Sovereign then awarded the Mohammed VI Prize "Ahl Al-Qurâan" and "Ahl Al-Hadith", respectively to Abderrahim Naboulsi, from the city of Marrakech, and to Mohamed Benkirane, from the city of El Ksar El Kébir.
HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, also awarded the Mohammed VI Prize for Koranic schools in its three categories to Mohamed Chakir of Ouarzazate (Prize for learning methodology), to Mohamed Boulis of Larache (Prize for performance), and to Mohamed Zaânouni of Tiznit (Prize for management).
The Sovereign then awarded the Mohammed VI Prize for the Adhan and Tahlil, created on the High Instructions of HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, in its two categories, respectively, to Youssef Ennaji of the city of Mohammedia (Prize for Excellence) and Mohamed El Hedar of the city of Nador (Honorary Award).
At the end of this vigil, the audience raised prayers imploring the Almighty to preserve HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, to crown His initiatives with success, to bless His steps, to realize the aspirations that the Sovereign nourishes for the progress of His faithful people and to fulfill Him in the person of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and all members of the illustrious Royal Family.
The faithful also raised prayers for the repose of the soul of the Father of the Nation, the late HM King Mohammed V and the late HM King Hassan II, may God have them in His holy mercy.
This vigil took place in the presence of the Head of Government, the Presidents of the two Chambers of Parliament, HM the King's Advisors, members of the government, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Islamic countries accredited to Morocco, senior officers of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Ulemas who participated in the religious talks of the holy month of Ramadan, presidents of local Councils of Ulemas, elected officials, as well as other civilian and military personalities.
