HRH Princess Lalla Salma Lays Foundation Stone Of Institute Of Cancer Research At Fes University Hospital
HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for the prevention and treatment of cancers, laid on Friday the foundation stone of the Institute of Cancer Research (IRC) at the Hassan II University Hospital Center in Fes, on the occasion of National Cancer Day.
On this occasion, explanations were given to HRH Princess Lalla Salma on the Cancer research cluster and the Cancer Research Institute, the first of its kind in Morocco worth more than 14 million dirhams.
Jointly launched by the Lalla Salma foundation for the prevention and treatment of cancer, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and training, and Ministry of Health, this large-scale project aspires to be a leading academic structures of expertise and sharing of skills on cancer research.
The Institute, which includes several research units and training, an information center, and statistics unit, will organize conferences and seminars in Morocco and abroad, develop communication and monitoring networks, and launch research partnerships with professionals, in the public and private sectors, in the field of health.
HRH Princess Lalla Salma paid a visit to the House of life at the University hospital. This facility hosts cancer patients and their families, and provides them with psychological support in a friendly environment where they can enjoy social activities.
The House of Life, inaugurated in June 2012 by HRH Princess Lalla Salma, consists of 48 beds, a living room, a play area for children, a conference room, a treatment room, a kitchen, a dining room, a laundry room, a garden and patios.
