HRH Princess Lalla Meryem's Anniversary, Occasion To Applaud Multi-Faceted Action For Women And Children
The Royal Family and the Moroccan people celebrate, on Tuesday, the anniversary of HRH Princess Lalla Meryem known for her unwavering commitment and outstanding action in favor of the Moroccan women's emancipation and the protection of children's rights.
The date of August 26th is engraved on the mind of Moroccans who celebrate a daily fight by HRH the Princess who embraced the just causes of women's empowerment, whether they are Moroccan, African or Arab.
Driven by a strong commitment since her youth, Her Royal Highness takes a special interest in the well-being of children and the promotion of the situation of women.
HRH is in fact known for her social commitment which was crowned by the "Femmes Leaders Mondiales" which was handed to her royal highness in May 2010 in her capacity as chairwoman of the National Union of Moroccan Women.
The Princess has always taken interest in the well-being of children as president of the National Observatory for Child Rights (ONDE), the Moroccan association of support for UNICEF and the child parliament.
HRH's social action was given concrete substance through the launch, on a yearly basis, of the national vaccination campaign.
In 2011, the Princess was awarded the "Méditerranée pour l’Enfance" prize granted by the Mediterranean Foundation for Peace.
