HRH Princess Lalla Hasna Chairs Official Dinner Offered By HM The King In Honor Of Participants Of 7th WEEC-2013

MAP- Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, chaired,Thursday in Badia Palace in Marrakech, an official dinner offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in honor of the participants in the seventh World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC-2013).

  Held under the theme "Environmental Education in Cities and Rural Areas: Seeking greater Harmony", the congress wrapped up on Thursday with "the Marrakech Declaration".

    Earlier, HRH the princess had attended a show wrapping up the congress, taking place for the first time in an Arab Islamic country.

    The "Marrakech Declaration" called for recognizing the contribution of civil society to environmental education, strengthening its role in this field and encouraging consultation and coordination between all stakeholders for a better synergy in defining strategies and implementing projects.

   It also called for setting up networks of environmental education actors in order to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, expertise, experience and best practices and promote the inclusion of territorial specificities and the mobilization of local actors in development efforts.

   The Marrakech Declaration also highlights the need to develop innovative, more appealing tools and teaching materials, while continuing to develop conventional methods.
