Lower House Speaker to Represent HM the King at Inauguration Ceremony of Paraguay's New President
Speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house) Habib El Malki will represent HM King Mohammed VI, Wednesday in Asunción, at the inauguration ceremony of Paraguay’s new president Mario Abdo Benitez, said a statement by the House of Representatives.
HM the King had sent a congratulatory message to Abdo Benitez, in which the Sovereign expressed to him his heartfelt congratulations and sincere wishes of full success in his high office to achieve more progress and prosperity.
The Sovereign also reiterated his firm determination to work together with the new Paraguayan head of State to consolidate bilateral relations and promote South-South cooperation.

Paraguay Expresses Support for Morocco's Territorial Integrity, Official
Paraguayan foreign minister Luis Alberto Castiglioni clearly expressed his country's support for the Kingdom's territorial integrity, affirming that this is a final and unchanging decision.
"Morocco is a great friendly country and we support the territorial integrity of the Kingdom. This is a final and unchanging decision," he said during talks, on Tuesday in Asuncion, with speaker of the House representatives Habib El Malki.
Quoted by a statement from the House of Representatives, Alberto Castiglioni said that in terms of trade, Paraguay as a country which is predominantly agricultural "is very interested in Moroccan phosphates".
The Paraguayan official said that the South American Common Market (Mercosur) offers opportunities for Paraguay's friendly countries like Morocco.
For his part, El Malki, who will represent HM King Mohammed VI, on Wednesday in Asuncion, in the official inauguration ceremony of the new President of Paraguay Mario Abdo Benitez, congratulated his interlocutor for his appointment as foreign minister of Paraguay.
In this regard, he underlined the relevance of Paraguay's political choices, which are in line with a South-South model of cooperation, expressing the Kingdom's willingness to promote its cooperation at the legislative level with the Mercosur Parliament, which is currently chaired by a Paraguay.

Lower House Speaker Calls in Bogota for Institutionalized Relations with Colombian Congress
Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki called, Wednesday in Bogota, to institutionalize relations with the Colombian Congress through the adoption of a memorandum of understading and cooperation between the two legislative institutions.
The current political situation requires more bilateral initiatives likely to give impetus to relations of friendship and cooperation by sharing experiences and dialogue on various issues of common interest nationally and internationally, he stressed during a meeting with president of the congress Ernesto Macías Tovar and speaker of the Colombian House of Representatvies Alejandro Carlos Chacon Camargo.
El Malki, who represented HM King Mohammed VI in the inauguration ceremony of new Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez, called for making the Moroccan-Colombian friendship group a bridge of communication for the benefit of initiatives to be undertaken in the future in the service of both states.
Noting that the Colombian people are laying the foundations of a democracy that is active and open to the various stakeholders, he invited his Colombian counterpart to work together in order to further promote relations between the legislative institutions of the two countries.

Lower House Speaker Holds Talks in Bogota with Andean Parliament Officials
Speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house), Habib El Malki, held talks on Wednesday in Bogota with the speaker and the secretary general of the Andean Parliament, Hugo Quiroz and Eduardo Chiliquinga.
The talks focused on the prospects of cooperation between Morocco and this regional legislative institution.
On this occasion, the two sides agreed on a series of measures to enhance bilateral cooperation in several legislative areas.
Morocco is eager to develop its relations with the Andean parliament, El Malki pointed out.
He also praised the ties of friendship and cooperation with this legislative institution, noting that these relations go back to more than 25 years ago.
El Mali underscored the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed last July between the Moroccan parliament and the Andean parliament.
Under this agreement, the Moroccan Parliament will be represented, before the end of the current year, by three of its members in this Parliament, adding that Moroccan MPs will regularly attend the plenary sessions of this institution.
This initiative reflects the esteem and consideration of the Andean countries towards the Kingdom for its efforts aiming at bringing together cultures and civilizations, he said.
El Malki also underlined the need to increase exchange of visits between the two Parliaments.
He also expressed the kingdom's willingness to share its experience with Andean countries, particularly in the fields of renewable energies and environmental protection.
El Malki also called for a meeting between the Moroccan Parliament and the Andean Parliament dedicated to sustainable development and climate change.
He also lauded the support of the Andean Parliament to Morocco’s territorial integrity and its support for the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom as a solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.
For his part, the Speaker of the Andean Parliament expressed the willingness of this legislative institution to step up cooperation with the Moroccan Parliament in areas of common interest, stressing the importance of consolidating parliamentary diplomacy to contribute to the rapprochement and understanding between peoples.
In his turn, Chiliquinga expressed the willingness of the Andean countries to benefit from Morocco’s experience in the area of renewable energy and seawater desalination, two sectors in which the Kingdom has become a "world reference".
On this occasion, he reaffirmed the support of the Andean Parliament to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, as well as its support to the Moroccan autonomy plan.
Created on October 25, 1979 in La Paz (Bolivia), the Andean Parliament brings together MPs from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

Lower House Speaker Meets in Bogota with Speakers of Both Houses of Colombian Congress
Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki held talks, in Bogota on Wednesday, with speakers of the Colombian Senate and House of Representatives, Ernesto Macias and Alejandro Carlos Chacon respectively, touching on the prospects for cooperation between the two countries on legislative matters.
These meetings were an opportunity to highlight the excellent relations between Morocco and Colombia, and to reiterate the common will to bring the two parties closer and boost bilateral cooperation in all fields.
In his meeting with Macias, El Malki stressed the importance of the exchange of visits between MPs from the law-making bodies for the consolidation of relations between the Kingdom and Colombia, two countries which share the same values of openness and solidarity.
For his part, Macias, also President of the Congress, emphasized the common will of the government of the new Colombian President Ivan Duque and of the Congress of the South American country to establish a strong partnership with Morocco.
During his meeting with the speaker of the Colombian House of Representatives, El Malki, who represented HM King Mohammed VI in the inauguration ceremony of President Duque, underlined the readiness of Morocco to strengthen cooperation in all areas, adding that the celebration in 2019 of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Colombia offers the opportunity for the legislative institutions of both countries to give a new impetus to their cooperation relations.
For his part, Chacon expressed his support for all initiatives to promote cooperation in legislative matters with the Kingdom, stating that the Colombia-Morocco friendship group in the House of Representatives of his country will be revived.

Speaker of House of Representatives Represents HM the King in Inauguration Ceremony of New Colombian President
Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki represented, Tuesday in Bogota, HM King Mohammed VI in the official inauguration ceremony of new Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez.
The ceremony was attended by several Heads of State and Government, political leaders, several figures, as well as the diplomatic corps accredited in Bogotá.
In a meeting he had with the new President, El Malki conveyed to the Colombian leader the congratulations of HM the King and his sincere wishes of full success in conducting his mission.
For his part, the Colombian head of state welcomed the presence of the emissary of HM the King in his inauguration, a fact that mirrors the quality of the friendship ties between the two countries and the two peoples.
He also expressed his wish to meet with HM the King in the near future.
During the ceremony, El Malki was accompanied by the Ambassador of Morocco in Bogota Farida Loudaya.
