Spain welcomes counterterrorism cooperation with Morocco

Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz welcomed on Tuesday in Bunuel (northern Spain) the counterterrorism cooperation with Morocco.

"Spain maintains cooperation with Moroccan authorities at the operational and intelligence level," the Spanish official told the press.

The statement was made following the arrest on Tuesday in the city of Badalona of four people from the same family who are alleged to be members of a network specialising in recruiting fighters for Djihadists in Syria.

He added that 29 individuals were arrested in Spain on charges of belonging to terrorist networks since the beginning of the year, noting that Spanish security services foiled the attempts of 50 individuals to join conflict zones in Iraq and Syria.
