Firmada en Rabat una declaración de intenciones de colaboración entre la FNM y la región de Île-de-France

Morocco's National Foundation of Museums (FNM) and the Île-de-France Region signed on Monday a declaration of intent at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat to establish a cultural partnership.

Inked by FNM President Mehdi Qotbi and Île-de-France President Valérie Pécresse, the agreement includes organizing the inaugural Mediterranean exhibition for the upcoming City of African Culture - Museum of the Continent.

The partnership will also focus on sharing expertise in African contemporary art conservation, acquisitions, public engagement, and loaning artworks from the Île-de-France Regional Contemporary Art Fund (Frac).

Speaking at the occasion, Qotbi highlighted His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s strong support for culture and Morocco’s pivotal role as a gateway between Africa and Europe.

In turn, Pécresse emphasized the deep ties between Île-de-France and Morocco, noting that Frac Île-de-France's expertise will be made available to the FNM to locate, develop, appraise and promote African talent.

The event featured a visit by Pécresse and her accompanying delegation to the Mohammed VI of Modern and Contemporary Art, showcasing works by writer, poet and artist Tahar Ben Jelloun as well as contemporary Moroccan artists.
