Morocco, China Discuss Means to Promote Cooperation in Various Fields of Culture and Arts

President of the National Foundation of Morocco's Museums Mehdi Qotbi held, Thursday in the Chinese capital, talks with director of Beijing’s Capital Museum, Han Zhanming, on means to promote cooperation between the two institutions in various fields of culture and arts.

In a statement to MAP at the end of the meeting, Qotbi said that the talks had focused on cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the field of training in the restoration of archaeological finds, given China's remarkable experience in the restoration and maintenance of works of art and ancient finds.

During this meeting, Qotbi highlighted the role of the National Foundation of Morocco’s Museums in promoting heritage and modern art in the Kingdom as well as the major exhibitions it organizes, particularly at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern Arts.

"We agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two institutions and discussed the Museum's participation in the cultural and artistic event to be organized by Morocco in Beijing in 2021," he said.

On this occasion, Qotbi visited the Capital Museum and its various pavilions which include nearly 200,000 archaeological finds in addition to thematic rooms retracing the daily life in Beijing through its history.

Qotbi, who is in Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese government, also visited the "Forbidden City", one of the country's most impressive historic sites.
