Moroccan Minister Chairs Closing Conference Of Morocco-EU Institutional Twinning Project In Research

  Moroccan minister of higher education, scientific research and vocational training, Lahcen Daoudi, chaired on Tuesday in Rabat the closing conference of Morocco-EU institutional twinning project "Support to the National Research System in Morocco for its integration to the European Research Area".

 The two year-project, worth 1.53 million euros, brings together public research players in Morocco, Spain and France, as part of the support program to the Morocco-EU association agreement.

    The project seeks to improve the governance of the national research system in Morocco, accelerate the integration of Morocco into the European Research Area and framework programmes, and build capacity in research, technological development and innovation to support economy and society.

    The minister stressed that the twinning will contribute to the success of Morocco’s advanced status in its relations with the EU, by promoting the consolidation and redefinition of public policies of the national research system in order to reinforce capacity of research, technological development and innovation.

  For 26 months, more than fifty French and Spanish experts and trainers have been conducting missions, training and information seminars in Morocco as well as study visits (110 days) and internships (150 days) in France, Spain, Sweden and Germany for an exchange of best practices and skills transfer.
