
The Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences (UM6SS) inaugurated, on Thursday in Marrakech, its new campus, which offers a diverse range of courses, meeting the health sector’s growing requirements.
Arising from the strategic vision of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS), this new establishment aims to meet the pressing need in qualified human resources and to strengthen the regional health ecosystem.
This new campus offers a wide array of programs in several branches, mainly internal medicine, nursing science (general nurse, anaesthetist and operating room nurse), as well as health sciences engineering (state engineer cycle and bachelor).
Speaking to MAP, the director general of the FM6SS Marrakech campus and dean of the Mohammed VI Faculty of Medicine in Marrakech, Ahmed Rhassane El Adib, said that this inauguration marks “an important milestone” in the development of medical and paramedical training in the Marrakech-Safi region.
Highlighting the quality of infrastructure, the ambition to excel and students’ satisfaction, he added that this opening coincided with the holding of methods conferences in the faculties of medicine, nursing sciences and health, as well as the school of health sciences engineering.
For his part, the dean of the Mohammed VI Faculty of Nursing Sciences and Health Professions in Marrakech, Rachid Fares, said that with this inauguration, UM6SS has now marked its presence in the cities of Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Agadir and Dakhla.
Fares pointed out that this faculty offers three nursing programs, namely general nursing, anaesthesia and intensive care, and operating room nursing, providing students in the region with training that meets the needs of the national health system, in modern facilities including lecture halls, simulation rooms, and practical work rooms.
