His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and His Highness Prince Moulay Ahmed, chaired a reception Thursday afternoon at the M’diq-Fnideq Prefecture Square (city of M’diq), a reception marking the 27th anniversary of the Sovereign’s accession to the Throne of His glorious Ancestors.
At the outset of the ceremony, His Majesty the King saluted the Moroccan flag while the national anthem played and a 21-gun salute fired.
The Sovereign was then greeted by several Moroccan and foreign dignitaries who came to extend their congratulations on this joyous occasion.
His Majesty the King received congratulations from Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch; Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami; and Speaker of the House of Councillors Mohamed Ould Errachid.
The Sovereign also received greetings from Deputy President of Morocco's Supreme Council of the Judiciary and First President of the Court of Cassation Mohamed Abdennabaoui; from Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Hicham El Balaoui; President of the Constitutional Court Mohamed Amine Benabdellah; First President of the Court of Accounts Zineb El Adaoui; President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council Abdelkader Amara; Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Ulema El Yazid Er-Radi, President of the Higher Council for Education, Training, and Scientific Research Rahma Bourqia, and President of the National Human Rights Council Amina Bouayach.
His Majesty the King was also greeted by the Kingdom’s Ombudsman Hassan Tariq; President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication Latifa Akherbach; President of the Competition Council Ahmed Rahhou, President of the National Authority for Probity, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption Mohamed Benalilou, President of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad Driss El Yazami, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs Khalihenna Ould Errachid; Wali of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region and Governor of the Prefecture of Tangier-Assilah Younès Tazi; and President of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council Omar Moro.
The Sovereign was subsequently greeted by Lieutenant General Mohamed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone; Lieutenant General Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie; Brigadier General Azzeddine Khalid, Head of the Third Bureau; Air Major General Mohammed Gadih, Inspector of the Royal Air Force; Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin, Inspector of the Royal Navy; Brigadier General Abdelghani Mouhib, Inspector General of the Auxiliary Forces (North Zone); and Brigadier General Mustapha Hdiouad, Inspector General of the Auxiliary Forces (South Zone); as well as Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Director General of National Territorial Surveillance; as well as Mohamed Yassine El Mansouri, Director General of Studies and Documentation.
His Majesty the King was also greeted by the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon, Mohamadou Youssifou; the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Khalid Bin Salman Jabr Al-Musallam; the Dean of the European Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Julien-Vincent Brunie; the Dean of the Asian Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saulekul Sailaukyzy; and the Vice-Dean of the Americas Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay, Victor Hugo Ramon Paniagua Fretes.
The Sovereign was also greeted by Monsignor Emilio Rocha Grande, Archbishop of Tangier; the Reverend Pastor Karen Thomas Smith, President of the Evangelical Church in Morocco; Father Maxim Massalitin, President of the Russian Orthodox Church; and Yossef Israel, Chief Rabbi of Casablanca.
His Majesty the King was subsequently greeted by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The Moroccan people's celebration today of the 27th anniversary of HM King Mohammed VI's accession to the Throne is a renewed occasion for all components of the Nation to reiterate their fidelity, loyalty, and unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne.
