In a statement to MAP after the meeting, attended also by members of the Moroccan parliamentary delegation, Ghellab said the two sides welcomed the quality of relations between Morocco and Quebec, noting that he surveyed with his interlocutor a range of very important subjects to give new impetus to these relations and bilateral cooperation.
The progress of talks on the free trade agreement between Morocco and Canada was among the issues discussed during the meeting, he added, underlining the need to step up the pace of these negotiations and to ensure the balance of the provisions laid in this agreement to make it beneficial for both countries.
It was agreed to encourage the Canadian and Moroccan governments to support these negotiations, while preserving mutual interests, he said.
