Biadillah Meets With Member Of National Assembly Of The Union Of Comoros

Speaker of the House of Advisers Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah met Tuesday in Rabat, with Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, Abderehmane Ahmed Abdallah.

   During this meeting, Biadillah stressed the strong relations between the two countries, said a statement from the House of Advisors.

   He highlighted the democratic experience in Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, recalling the adoption of a new constitution in 2011, the importance of participatory democracy, and the role of civil society and parliamentary opposition.

   He also stressed the increasing security challenges in the Sahel-Saharan region and their impact on international security and peace.

   Welcoming the position of the Union of the Comoros, which supports the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, Biadillah highlighted Morocco's initiative to end the artificial conflict over the southern provinces, while respecting the national sovereignty and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

   For his part, Mr. Abderehmane Ahmed Abdallah highlighted the strong and deep relations between the two countries, welcoming the warm welcome enjoyed by Comorian nationals in Morocco.

   The Comorian official stressed that the visit of the delegation of his country aims to strengthen the relations of brotherhood and friendship between the MPs of the two countries and to learn from the Moroccan experience in this field, expressing admiration for the Moroccan democratic model as well as the stability, progress, and development in the Kingdom.
