The agreement was signed by the Director in charge of managing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui; the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Culture, Jad Ghazzawi; and the head of the Palestinian National Library, Issa Qaraqe.

The agreement provides for the exchange of expertise and media materials, as well as support for research projects related to Palestinian cultural heritage.

It outlines the implementation of joint programs to document and preserve Palestinian records in collaboration with Moroccan institutions, while also highlighting Jerusalem’s cultural and historical significance.

The agreement also seeks to leverage the presence of the Moroccan Cultural Center Bayt Al-Marghrib in Jerusalem, and support its programs to achieve its objectives.

As a cultural landmark, the center strengthens the emotional bond between Moroccans and Jerusalem, while acting as a beacon for preserving the city’s Palestinian identity and safeguarding its cultural and architectural heritage.

Salem Cherkaoui stated in his address on the occasion that the Agency relies on this partnership to underscore Morocco’s presence in Jerusalem through the extensive Palestinian archives housed within this vast library.

For his part, Qaraqe expressed his belief that this partnership would undoubtedly contribute to supporting the efforts of Palestinian national institutions in protecting Jerusalem and preserving its religious and cultural heritage.
