
Benefiting some 20 social establishments, including orphanages, foster homes, special care centers and five neighborhood committees in the Old City, this humanitarian operation aimed at Al-Quds families in need involves the distribution of 22 types of the most consumed foodstuffs.
Attended by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency's Director General Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, President of the Moroccan Association for Reconstruction Support in Palestine Mohamed Jamal Bouzidi, Al-Quds religious and social figures and representatives of beneficiary establishments, the launch of this solidarity initiative is part of the Agency's social aid program during the month of Ramadan for the most vulnerable categories of Al-Quds residents.
This food aid is part of the ongoing actions undertaken by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, under the direct supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for over a quarter of a century, to improve the socio-economic situation of the Al-Quds inhabitants and support their resilience.
In this respect, representatives of the beneficiary establishments expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His constant support and backing for the resilience of the inhabitants of Al-Quds, hailing the Sovereign's efforts to alleviate their suffering during this blessed month.
On Saturday evening, the Agency launched the “Iftar Ramadan” operation in the village of Nabi Samuel, on the outskirts of Al-Quds, aimed at needy categories of Al Quds to mark on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
In a statement to MAP, Cherkaoui stressed that the launch of this food aid program for Al Quds families and social welfare institutions in the Holy City on Ramadan, comes in fulfillment of the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who has consistently paid special attention to the socio-economic conditions of the Al Quds residents with a view to alleviating their suffering.
