Arab Interior Ministers Council Adopts Marrakech Declaration Of Struggle Against Terrorism

 The Arab interior ministers council which held on Wednesday in Marrakech its 31st session adopted the "Marrakech declaration of struggle against terrorism".

The declaration reiterates total rejection of terrorism, whatever reasons and methods, and condemned the sectarian discourse that feeds terrorism and incites for hatred as well as all terrorist acts against member-states.

The Council also reaffirms resolve to continue to fight terrorism and make use of all efforts and means to eradicate the plague, expressing support to all measures taken by member-states to guarantee their security and stability.

 

The Arab interior ministers further condemned terrorist acts against security forces in Arab countries, such as the ones that targeted recently security forces in Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen and Iraq where thousands of policemen were killed.

Interior Minister Meets With Saudi Peer In Marrakech

 Interior Minister Mohamed Hassad med, Tuesday in Marrakech, with Saudi counterpart and Honorary President of the council of Arab Interior Ministers, HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The meeting, which takes place on the eve of the 31st session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers (CMAI), slated on Wednesday in Marrakech, was attended by Minister Delegate to the Interior Minister Charki Draiss, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Morocco Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Jadiaa, and senior officials from the two ministries.

 The city of Marrakech will host on March 12 and 13, the 31st session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers (CMAI).  

 The agenda of the meeting includes reviewing reports on the progress of the implementation of Arab strategies to fight against drug trafficking, counterterrorism fight, road safety, civil defense and the 13th yearly report on monitoring the implementation of the Arab convention against terrorism, said a statement by the General Secretariat of the Council.

31th Session Of Council Of Arab Interior Ministers Kicks Off Wednesday In Marrakech

The 31th session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers kicked off Wednesday in Marrakech.

The opening of the Council's meeting was marked by a royal message, which was read by Interior Minister, Mohamed Hassad.

The meeting, held under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, aims to assess the progress reports of the implementation of the Arab strategies to fight drug trafficking and terrorism, and those relating to road safety and civil protection.

The 13th annual follow-up report on the implementation of the Arab convention against terrorism is also on this meeting's agenda.

This session will be also devoted to discussing the report of the Honorary President of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Interior Minister and Chairman of the Board of the Nayef Arab University for Security Sciences on the work of this institution between the 30th and 31st sessions, as well as the report of the Secretary General of the Council on the work of the General Secretariat for the year 2013.

The meeting is attended notably by Arab Ministers of the Interior, high-level security delegations, and representatives of the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab Maghreb Union, the Interpol, the International Civil Defense Organization, the Arab Tourism Organization, the Arab Forum of Civil Aviation and the Nayef Arab University for Security Sciences.
