Voters are heading to polling stations in Rabat on Wednesday to elect their representatives to the House of Representatives, in an atmosphere of responsibility and patriotism, fully hoping that this election will mark a new step toward strengthening democratic choice and the rule of law.
In statements to MAP, voters expressed their hope to see this election culminate in a government capable of addressing economic and social challenges and meeting citizens’ expectations.
In this regard, Rabiaa (76) said she was determined to fulfill her civic duty, just like her fellow citizens, expressing the hope that the newly elected officials will fully take on their responsibilities and help improve citizens’ living conditions.
For his part, Younes (52) said that going to the polls is a national duty to choose the nation’s representatives for the next legislative term.
The man in his fifties, accompanied by his wife (who also voted) emphasized the importance of the responsibility that falls on elected officials and those in charge of public administration to ensure they live up to their mission.
Young people also echoed this sentiment: Mohamed Amine (28) emphasized that youth participation in the electoral process is essential, since they represent the generation of tomorrow, noting that voting is a constitutional right and a civic duty for citizens to choose the nation’s representatives for the next five years.
Walid, in his twenties, also stated he voted for the political party that had convinced him, saying he was happy to exercise his constitutional and democratic right. He also said he was proud to have voted by proxy on behalf of his twin brother, who lives in the United States.
