HM the King Congratulates Michelle Bachelet on her Appointment as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

HM King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to Michelle Bachelet following her appointment as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

In this message, the Sovereign expresses his heartfelt congratulations and sincere wishes of success to Bachelet in her new mission.

HM the King stresses that the confidence placed in Bachelet to hold this important position within the United Nations shows the consideration and recognition of the international community, represented by the Secretary General and the United Nations General Assembly, for her great qualities, her expertise and political experience as well as for her outstanding record in the area of human rights, expressing his conviction that Bachelet will spare no effort to facilitate dialogue and understanding among the members of this UN body in order to achieve the noble objectives sought.

The Sovereign seizes this opportunity to welcome the cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, reiterating the Kingdom's continued support for this organization and its efforts to defend human rights and to promote human rights around the world.
