The new president of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio highlighted, Sunday in Freetown, the depth of the ties of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Sierra Leone, hoping to further strengthen them for the benefit of both countries and peoples.

Speaking with speaker of the house of representatives Habib El Malki during his official inauguration ceremony, the new leader of Sierra Leone was thankful for the congratulatory message sent to him by HM King Mohammed VI after wining the presidential elections, and for Morocco's participation in the ceremony.

For his part, Malki, who represented HM King Mohammed VI in this ceremony, conveyed to the President of Sierra Leone the Sovereign's heartfelt congratulations and his best wishes of success in conducting his mission.

El Malki also reaffirmed Morocco's support for all efforts aimed at boosting Sierra Leone's development and continuing reforms made at all levels to achieve the aspirations of the people of Sierra Leone for further progress and prosperity, according to a solidarity-based and partnership approach between the components of the African continent as advocated by HM King Mohammed VI.

On the sidelines of this ceremony, El Malki held talks with the speaker of Sierra Leone's National Assembly Abbas Chernor Bundi, in the presence of Morocco's ambassador to Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia Driss Sbaine.
