Morocco’s Internet Population Hits 8.5 Million At End September 2014

Morocco is now home to over 8.5 million Internet users, that is a penetration rate of 25.6 percent.
According to the latest stats from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT), the overall number of Web users climbed 62.8 percent year-on-year to 8.5 million at the end of September 2014.
The rapid growth in smartphone owners fuelled the use of mobile Internet, whose subscribers increased by 70.5 percent year-on-year to 7.55 million subscribers, ANRT pointed out in a statement.
At the end of September 2014, the ADSL customer base, with a share of 11.1 percent in the global Internet market, increased 19.6 percent year-on-year, according to the same source.
