Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee Mobilized to Defend Morocco's Territorial Integrity

The latest developments in the national issue and the multidimensional partnership with the European Union (EU) are on the agenda of the mission currently being undertaken by the Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee to the European Parliament (EP) in Strasbourg.

A statement by the Committee said that the parliamentary delegation will discuss with many influential MEPs subjects of common interest, particularly the Morocco-EU fisheries agreement, as well as the Kingdom’s major development projects and reforms in the political, economic and social areas.

They will also tackle Morocco's successful experience in the democratization process and the consolidation of human rights, in addition to its migration policy.

"Aware of the Committee’s great responsibility as part of the permanent mobilization to defend Morocco’s territorial integrity within the European Parliament, as well as its contribution to promoting the special relationship with the EU and contacts between MPs of both parties within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy," the statement said, the Moroccan delegation will seize the opportunity of the EP plenary session in Strasbourg (April 17-20) to “express the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening efficient parliamentary cooperation and bilateral links with Europe, which aims to support the virtuous dynamic of Morocco and speed up the pace of the Morocco-UE partnership.”

During its meetings in Strasbourg, the delegation will finalize preparations for the 9th annual meeting of the Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee, scheduled for June 21 in Brussels, the same source added.
