Mali Seeks to Benefit from Morocco's Successful Experiences in Economic Field: Malian FM

Mali wants to benefit from Morocco's successful economic experiences, Malian Foreign Minister Tieman Hubert Coulibaly said Thursday in Rabat following talks with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.

Coulibaly, who mentioned in this regard the "dazzling development" of agriculture in Morocco as well as the "successful" Industrial Acceleration Plan, said that his country seeks to "take advantage of the experience of Morocco and its support on specific projects".

This economic cooperation should "create opportunities for prosperity in our two countries," he added.

Coulibaly also expressed the willingness of both countries to give new impetus to their relations, particularly through the harmonization of their positions regarding major political and economic issues.

For his part, Bourita said that the visit of the Malian minister is part of the monitoring of projects launched during the two visits of HM King Mohammed VI to Mali in 2013 and 2014, as well as during the recent visit to Rabat of the Malian Prime Minister.

Bourita noted that Morocco is one of the few countries whose constitution refers to South-South cooperation, which in addition to being a constitutional principle is a Royal orientation that the Kingdom intends to put in place with Mali, in order to make it a lever for co-development and co-emergence.

He also thanked Mali for its support for Morocco's return to the African Union (AU), as well as for its constructive positions regarding the Kingdom's higher interests.
