The Institution of the Commandership of the Faithful is a pledge of peace, security and co-existence for Jewish and Christian people living in Morocco, said, on Monday in Rabat, Monsignor Vito Rallo, Ambassador of the Vatican Apostolic Nunciature in Rabat.

During a visit by a large delegation of foreign ambassadors accredited to Rabat and representing different religious institutions in Morocco, organized by the diplomatic foundation in partnership with the Apostolic Nunciature and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Monsignor Vito Rallo stressed, in a statement to MAP, that this visit aims to introduce the said ambassadors to moderate Islam that promotes peace and tolerance, as advocated by Morocco under the leadership of HM the King Mohammed VI.

"The Kingdom of Morocco is a melting pot of cultures and civilizations, and a land of openness and interfaith dialogue," said the Vatican ambassador, highlighting that believers from foreign countries place their trust in the Institution of the Commandership of the Faithful.

He also discussed how crucial this institution is for the management of religious affairs in Morocco, praising the coexistence, harmony and security that prevail in Morocco thanks to the undeniable role of the Institution of "Imarat al-Mouminine", as one of the constants of the country.

"Morocco is among the few countries where everyone can live in peace, respect and justice, thanks to the solicitude of His Sovereign and the institution of the Commandership of the Faithful," said the Apostolic Nuncio.
