Government Council Approves Cooperation Agreement on Security and Fight against Crime between Morocco and Azerbaijan

The Council of Government, convened on Thursday in Rabat, adopted a draft law on the cooperation agreement on security and the fight against crime between Morocco and Azerbaijan, minister delegate for relations with parliament and civil society, government spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi, said.

Presented by the minister Delegate for Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs on behalf of the minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, this agreement was signed between the two countries on March 5, 2018, in Baku, El Khalfi added at a press briefing following the weekly cabinet meeting.

This agreement is aimed at developing cooperation between Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan on security and the fight against crime, he said.

The agreement is also meant to prevent and fight against terrorist acts, the financing of terrorism and crimes, drug trafficking, counterfeit money, cybercrime as well as against illegal immigration and human trafficking, the minister explained.
