According to this opinion sent to the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade (INTA), the new agricultural agreement strengthens the legal basis for preferential trade and provides a stable and unquestionable framework for trade with "an important EU partner", Morocco.

In a draft resolution, the INTA committee underlined the strategic importance of relations between Morocco and the European Union, encouraged the adoption of the agricultural agreement in its new version and underlined the need for the EU to secure its trade agreements with its partners.

The European Parliament's Committee also called on both parties to quickly restore good trade relations and to make progress in the negotiations for the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.
